Weak Battery

When you get in your car to start your day and it takes a few more cranks to start your car, it may be due to a weak batter.

If your vehicle takes several cranks to start, you may have an issue with your battery.  Bring it in and we’ll diagnose it and fix the problem.  Here are a few things we’ll do:

We will visually inspect the battery for any signs of damage, corrosion on the terminals, or leaks. Ensure that the battery connections are clean and tight. If the battery appears damaged or the connections are corroded, clean the terminals with a wire brush and tighten them securely.

A multimeter to measure the voltage of the battery.  A fully charged battery should read around 12.6 volts. If the voltage is significantly lower, it may indicate that the battery is weak or not holding a charge properly.

Replace the Battery: If the battery fails to hold a charge It’s time for a new battery.  We recommend Interstate Batteries and can install the proper batter for your vehicle.

Regular Maintenance: To prevent future starting issues due to battery problems, perform regular maintenance on your vehicle’s battery. This includes cleaning the terminals, checking the battery’s fluid levels (if applicable), and testing the battery’s voltage periodically.
